A positivist criticism of positivist growth theory

The notion of growth is one the most studied notions within economic theory and, traditionally, it accounted for based on a positivist thesis according to which assumptions are not relevant, if models have acceptable predictive power. Following this view, does matter whether realistic or not. Arguments against principle may involve defence over highly idealized false ones. This article aims in different direction. Instead demanding more realism, we can accept spirit mentioned thesis, but, instead, criticize circularity that arise by combining necessary explanation mainstream economics. Such key aspect well-known problem providing microfoundations macroeconomic properties. It here suggested emergence could be appropriate arrive at better understanding growth, clarifying issues related circularity, but without totally rejecting usefulness unrealistic assumptions.
